Beauty Secrets with Author Pippa Roscoe

There are three things I need if I’m going to get myself glammed up and ready to have fun!

MOISTURISER – it took me quite a while to find the right one for me. And honestly? I have no idea whether I have dry/combination dry/dry to medium greasy and all the other different ways some places have for describing my skin that somehow feel insulting whatever spin you put on it. But I finally found one that I like and I buy it every year in the post-Christmas sale. It’s my little xmas present to myself and I love it.

FOUNDATION – I have very pale skin. Like – paper pale, or Cullen pale in our post Twilight world, and it took my a very long time to find the right colour match for me. But just as important as the colour is the feel of the foundation. There was the one that dried my skin out and left little flakes of pink in my wake. OR the one that blocked up my pours and left me with the worst spots I’ve ever had since I was a teen! They’re getting really good at light weight foundations now and I finally found one that leaves me feeling… still like me! Just really balanced. Once I have the foundation pinned down, then I can have fun with all the different colours of lipstick or eye shadow and change my pallet to match my clothing for the night.

The MOST important, SLEEP  The best bit about this one is that it doesn’t cost a thing, but it’s priceless. Nothing is better for your skin than a good night’s sleep.  And although sometimes it’s hard to come by – stress and worries from our days, interruptions from our families or even work through the night, or even just our bodies unable to rest… Sleep is absolutely vital not just to the way we look but the way we feel. It doesn’t matter what we put on our faces or bodies to dress it up, because beauty really does come from within.

About the Author
Mills & Boon author Pippa Roscoe lives in Norfolk near her family and makes daily promises that this will be the day she will leave the computer and take a long walk in the countryside. She can’t remember a time when she wasn’t dreaming of gorgeous alpha males and misunderstood heroines. Totally her mother’s fault of course—she gave Pippa her first romance to read at the age of seven! She is inconceivably happy that she gets to share those daydreams with her readers.

  2. Ooh a King. That sounds fun. I've tried a bunch of different moisturizers too. Some of them are oily.

    1. Tester pots are amazing! Try a bit of the moisturizer, wait an hour and see how it feels before going back to buy. Sometimes it takes a while to really feel the effect of it! Good luck!

  7. Great advice! I agree that finding the right texture is important. I do not like a lot of moisturizes and foundations that I have tried because they feel to heavy or flaky or something. I try to get more sleep the older I get. :)

    1. My favourite type of moisturiser is the one I don't know is there! And as for sleep, I think I might have been a cat in a former life because I LOVE my sleep. Best wishes!
